How to revise for A-levels — UK sixth-form plan
A-levels punish shallow notes. Depth on weak modules beats covering everything lightly.
Eight moves. Depth over theatre.
- Specification open. Print the exam board spec. Tick what you can teach a friend.
- Essay subjects: plans first. Structure before prose. Markers reward structure.
- STEM: problem sets. Do questions until the method is boring.
- Teacher office hours. Book them with a specific question. Not I am confused.
- Two subjects per day max. Context switching wastes hours.
- Sleep before all-nighters. Memory consolidates when you sleep. All-nighters are cosplay.
- Mock autopsy. Every mock: error log within 48 hours.
- Clear life admin. Pair this with the Revision Timetable so subjects get booked hours.
