How to revise with past papers — UK exam board method
Reading mark schemes is not revising. Timed papers plus error logs are.
Seven moves. Paper, timer, fix.
- Correct board and tier. AQA, Edexcel, OCR — download the right ones.
- Full timed conditions. Same minutes. No notes. Phone away.
- Mark harshly. Official scheme. No I-meant-that.
- Error log. Topic + mistake type. This is the syllabus of your gaps.
- Re-teach the gap. Textbook or video for that topic only. Then re-test.
- Spaced repeat. Same paper style two weeks later. Compare scores.
- Admin the downloads. Pair this with the Revision Timetable so subjects get booked hours.
