How to build a university revision timetable — UK
Uni revision fails when it ignores labs, shifts, and commuting. Build the timetable around the real week.
Eight steps for a degree revision week you can keep.
- List modules. Exam or coursework weight — circle the two that matter most this term.
- Map fixed time. Lectures, seminars, shifts, commute. Shade them out first.
- Block deep work. 90–120 minute blocks for hard topics. Morning if that is when you think.
- Weight topics. More blocks for weak modules. Do not give equal time to everything.
- Active methods. Past papers, flashcards, teaching aloud — not re-reading notes for hours.
- One weekly review. Sunday 30 minutes: what stuck, what moves forward.
- Protect sleep. No heroic all-nighters in the plan. Tired revision is theatre.
- Printable. A Revision Timetable gives undated weekly blocks and session lengths on one PDF.
