How to schedule spaced repetition on paper — UK

Spaced repetition only works if the reviews actually land. Put them on a weekly timetable, not in your head.

Eight moves to run spaced repetition on paper.

  1. Pick the deck. One subject or module. Cap new cards so reviews stay doable.
  2. Day 0 write. New card day — write the fact in your own words on the back.
  3. Review ladder. Same day light pass, then day 2, day 4, day 7. Tick on the timetable.
  4. Fail = reset. Wrong answer goes back to day 0 pile. Do not fake a pass.
  5. Time-box reviews. 25 minutes max per pile. Stop when the timer ends.
  6. Mix with papers. Two review blocks + one past-paper block beats cards-only weeks.
  7. Sunday reset. Sort piles: due / not due / retired. Keep the table clear.
  8. Printable. Revision Timetable holds the weekly blocks so reviews have a home.
