How to study with your phone away — UK focus rules
Focus apps are theatre if the phone is still in reach. Distance beats settings.
Seven moves. Phone in another room.
- Phone in kitchen. Not pocket. Not face-down on desk.
- Kitchen timer or watch. You do not need the phone clock.
- Tell housemates. Door closed means interrupt only for fire or blood.
- Website blockers on laptop. One layer. Do not spend an hour configuring.
- Reward after block. Ten minutes phone after 45 revision. Contingent.
- Track streak days. Calendar X. Breaks happen; restart next day.
- Admin the distractions. Pair this with the Revision Timetable so subjects get booked hours.
