How to use leftovers all week — UK school-night system

Leftovers die in the fridge when they have no name and no night. Label and schedule them.

Seven moves. From roast to Friday.

  1. Name every box. Write the dish and the night it will be eaten. Marker on lid.
  2. Front of fridge. Eat-soon shelf at eye level. Back of fridge is a graveyard.
  3. Remix rule. Roast chicken becomes wraps, then fried rice. Same protein, new plate.
  4. Carb swap. Rice Monday, jacket Tuesday, pasta Wednesday. Stops same-again complaints.
  5. Soup night. Veg scraps and stock. One blender. Freezer bags for next week.
  6. Freeze by Thursday. If it is still there and not planned, freeze or bin. No guilt.
  7. Grid on paper. Five nights written. The free meal grid makes this automatic.
