Free Secret Santa generator (UK)
Type in everyone's names, tap draw, then send each person their own private link on WhatsApp, text or email. Nobody sees anyone else's match, not even you. No sign-up, no email addresses, nothing saved.
Done. Now send everyone their own link
Each link only shows that one person who they're buying for. Send each link to the right person. Don't open the links yourself if you're playing too.
Closing this page clears the draw, so send the links first. Need to start again? Just tap Draw names again for a fresh draw.
How the Secret Santa draw works
- Add the names. Everyone taking part, one per line. Use names people will recognise, like "Big Dave" and "Dave from accounts".
- Add anyone to keep apart. Couples, flatmates, or the two people who bought each other socks last year.
- Draw. The generator shuffles until nobody gets themselves and every keep-apart pair is respected.
- Send the links. Tap WhatsApp, Copy or Share next to each name. Each person opens their link and taps to see their match.
Secret Santa rules that save arguments
- Set one spend limit and stick to it. £10 is the most common office limit in the UK; £5 works for big teams and £20 for families.
- Draw names by mid-November so people can order online without paying for fast delivery.
- Ask for a three-item wish list (one practical, one fun, one food or drink) so nobody's stuck.
- Agree the swap date before you draw and say what happens if someone's off sick (they swap when they're back).
- Remote team? Ask everyone to share a delivery address with the person buying for them, or set a gift-card-only rule.
Questions
Is this Secret Santa generator free?
Yes, completely free. There's no sign-up, no email addresses and no limit on group size.
Can the organiser see who got who?
Not unless they open other people's links. The matches aren't shown on the organiser's screen; each person's link reveals only their own match. If you want to be fully hands-off, send the links without opening them.
Do you store our names?
No. The draw happens in your own browser and nothing is sent to us or saved. Each person's match lives only inside their own link.
Can I stop couples getting each other?
Yes. Add each pair to the "Keep apart" box, one pair per line, like "Mum & Dad".
Someone lost their link. What now?
Copy their link again from this page if it's still open. If you've closed it, run a fresh draw and send everyone new links.
How much should we spend on Secret Santa?
Most UK offices go for £5 to £15, with £10 the usual middle ground. Families and friend groups often pick £20 to £30.
