How to play Christmas bingo
- Give everyone a card and a pen, or counters such as buttons or dried pasta.
- The caller reads out the words from the caller sheet in order, ticking each one off.
- Players mark any word they have. The first to complete a full row, column or diagonal shouts Bingo. For a longer game, play on to a full card.
- Check the winner's squares against the words you have ticked on the caller sheet.
Ideas to make it more fun
- For small children, use the 3 by 3 grid and say each word with an action, such as a ho-ho-ho for Santa.
- For a class party, give a sticker or a pencil as the prize, and make sure everyone wins something by playing a few rounds.
- For a family afternoon, use the Christmas Day list and play it live over the day: tick squares as they really happen.
- Make your own list from a family joke or a favourite film. The more extra words you add beyond the number of squares, the more different each card is.

Common questions
How do I make Christmas bingo cards?
Pick a list of words or things to spot, choose the grid size (3 by 3 for young children, 5 by 5 for a full game), say how many cards you need and press Make my cards. Every card gets the same words in a different order and mix, so no two are alike. Then press Print.
How many different bingo cards can I print?
Up to 30 in one go. Press the button again for a fresh set. Each card in a set is checked so that no two are the same, as long as your list has enough words (at least the number of squares, and a few more makes the cards differ a lot).
What do I need to play?
A printout, a pen or some small counters (buttons, dried pasta or Christmas sweets work), and one person to call. Print the caller sheet, which lists all the words in a random order. Tick each word off as you call it, and the first player with a full line, or a full card, shouts Bingo.
Can I use my own words?
Yes. Choose Your own list and type one word or phrase per line. You need at least as many as the squares on the grid (9, 16 or 25, or one fewer in the middle square if you use the free space), and the more extra words you add, the more different the cards will be.
Is there a game for very young children?
Choose the 3 by 3 grid with the Christmas words list. Say the words aloud as you call them, and let children cover each one with a counter. A short game of 10 to 15 calls keeps it fun for pre-schoolers.
What is a free space?
On a 3 by 3 or 5 by 5 grid the middle square can be a free square already marked. It makes a game a little quicker. Turn it off with the tick box if you would rather everyone earns every square.
Is anything saved or sent?
No. The cards are made in your own browser from what you type. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
How do I save ink?
Choose the plain outline style, which prints black and white with no colour fills.
